The 483 kW power plant is now generating solar power for Placer Union School District (PUHSD), specifically at Del Oro High School in Loomis, CA. PPM financed, owns, and operates the system and PUHSD buys the power generated from the system through a long-term PPA. The solar power plant generates over 660,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year providing approximately half of the high school’s total energy requirements. Placer Unified School District is currently under contract to put solar on four more high schools and their district office. The renewable energy certificates are retained by PPM and sold to third parties.
